Jefferson City Council OKs new tattoo rules

Even though it took two votes of the Jefferson City Council to accomplish it, the latest amendment to the tattoo ordinance became law Monday night.

The bill, which was only one of two pending on Monday night's agenda, allows tattoo businesses to expand their hours from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. It also allows the city to audit any records of the businesses, requires each station be equipped with a hot water sink and requires a permit fee for a body art practitioner that will be set by the city administrator.
