Heavy traffic on a U.S. 54 off ramp has prompted the Missouri Department of Transportation to erect all-way stop signs in Holts Summit at the intersection of the U.S. 54 eastbound ramp at Route AA and Route OO.
Holts Summit area motorists were surprised that a stop sign suddenly appeared on the frequently traveled route. Garrett Depue, a MoDOT traffic studies specialist, said the intersection is unusual because it has more traffic from the U.S. 54 off ramp than the overpass that carries Route AA and Route OO.

I have to say this is probably the most stupid thing Holts Summit has ever done, I go on this overpass everyday and have run the stop sign twice, who puts stop signs at the top of an over pass..I see more wrecks happening because of these signs...not sure what HS was thinking when they put these in..it is not any more busy then the other one in HS so what if you have to wait a few minutes to turn onto the overpass from the highway, people are in so much of a hurry any more everything has to be quick and easy which is what is wrong with this world anymore.

Holts Summit needed that new 3-way stop because the knotheads that HABITUALLY run the stop sign coming off AA alongside Doolittle Trailer Company drive (speed) up to the next stop sign by the Kwik-Run/Shell station and roll right on through that stop sign as well. I see stop running EVERYDAY in these two areas. Even the schoolbuses and daycare vans run these very stop signs that I mentioned. I continue to report it when I see it because this occurs every morning when I am driving my child to school and every evening when I am driving my child home from school. If there are 'crack-ups' at the new 3-way stop on the overpass, oh well. The habitual stop sign running 'doofuses' might learn that a stop sign means STOP, not drive on through because you can beat the oncoming car.
