Arch workers gather at site for annual reunion

ST. LOUIS (AP) - A couple dozen men who worked on building the Gateway Arch in St. Louis more than 40 years ago gathered in St. Louis over the weekend.

Thursday was the 45th anniversary of when the final section of the Arch went into place. Construction began in June 1962 and ended in 1965.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the workers have held yearly reunions since 2002. Part of that reunion is a "Meet the Builders" event at the Arch.

Some people brought books for them to sign. Most visitors wanted the men to sign posters available for $1 showing the Arch and scenes from its construction.
