About the only good thing you can say about Wednesday’s game for Helias was it kept the Crusaders out of the record books. Barely.
Three free throws in the final 42.4 seconds kept the Crusaders from recording just the eighth time a team scored in the 20s in a game in the Mike Kehoe Great 8 Classic.
Helias coach Josh Buffington summed it up quite simply after the Crusaders’ 52-30 loss to Mount Lebanon (Penn.) in a winner’s bracket semifinal at Fleming Fieldhouse.
