Springfield school gets $100,000 grant

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - A 105-year-old elementary school in southwest Missouri is getting substantial help to pay for upgrades and expansion.

Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation announced a $100,000 grant Monday to Springfield's Robberson Elementary School.

KYTV reports the school has nearly 300 students from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade.

The money from the home improvement retailer's foundation will be used partly to move the school's office to improve safety. Other projects will include moving the computer lab and expanding a classroom.
