Police identify man killed by train in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Police have identified a man who was run over by a train as he appeared to be sleeping on the tracks.

The Kansas City Star reported Tuesday that the name of the victim was 49-year-old Quanah Powless of Kansas City.

A conductor spotted the man Sunday night on the tracks in the southern part of the city. But the train didn't have time to stop.

Powless died at the scene.
