Missouri organ donor to be honored in Rose Bowl parade

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - A southwest Missouri woman remembers two things about Jan. 1, 2008. She was watching the Tournament of Roses parade on TV, and her 20-year-old son suffered a terrible motorcycle accident that took his life.

Those two events will come together in a happier way on New Year's Day 2011 for Nancy Trapp. Her son, Blake White, will be honored on a float in the Tournament of Roses parade, and she'll be there to see it.

Trapp told KYTV in Springfield she misses her son every day, but it helps to know that five people were helped through donations of Blake's tissue and organs.

The national organ donation group Donate Life has a float in the Pasadena parade. This year's version will feature a floragraph of Blake's face - a photographic portrait in flowers.
