Officers, kids find Christmas cheer and gifts

They gathered at the Jefferson City Police Department in the pre-dawn hours of Saturday getting ready to do one of their more pleasant assignments of the year.

For more than 20 years, members of various law enforcement agencies based in Jefferson City have participated in the annual Operation T.O.Y.S. (Take Our Youth Shopping).

My husband volunteers for 'Shop With a Cop' every year. We think it's a great program.
