Thursday, December 16, 2010
ST. LOUIS (AP) — The U.S. Marshals Service will auction two grain farms and three other pieces of property forfeited by Cathy Gieseker, the north-central Missouri woman who pleaded guilty last year in what has been called the largest agricultural fraud case ever in Missouri.
Gieseker was sentenced to nine years in prison for bilking at least 179 Missouri farmers out of more than $27 million.
The live online auction will be at 4:45 p.m. Dec. 22, with proceeds going to victims of her crime and law enforcement operations.
