Woman gets 7 years for abandoning corpse

A Jefferson City woman was sentenced to seven years in prison Wednesday for pleading guilty to charges of abandoning a corpse and possession of heroin in connection with the death of a Missouri National Guard member in April.

Terra Hill, 26, of 2126 Louis Circle, also had a charge of maintaining a public nuisance dropped against her.

Hill and Brian Anderson, 32, also of 2126 Louis Circle, were arrested as a result of a police investigation into what began as a missing persons report on Micah J. Rooney, 34, Jefferson City. Rooney's abandoned body was discovered in a pickup truck parked at a local supermarket, and investigators discovered he had been with the two suspects on the night he died.
