Lawmen: 20 burglaries may be connected
Thursday, December 9, 2010
Authorities believe more than 20 recent daytime burglaries in Cole, Boone, Moniteau, Randolph, Chariton, Howard, Saline and Cooper counties are related, so they've formed a combined task force to investigate.
Cole County Sheriff Greg White said the burglaries here started in mid-November with break-ins in the 6800 block of Route B, 1500 block of Route E and 2800 block of Cassidy Road. Electronics and some weapons were taken in those burglaries.
Chariton County Sheriff Chris Hughes said in his county the suspects have kicked in doors before pulling a vehicle into an attached garage to gain entry.
The Jefferson City Area Crimestoppers has offered a $250 reward for help in solving this case. To leave a tip, call (573) 659-TIPS or call the Cole County Sheriff’s Department at (573) 634-9160.
