Church offers yet another Journey to Bethlehem

Recreating the feel of a Middle Eastern culture 2,000 years ago, more than 220 members of the Capital City Christian Church make great efforts to ensure Journey to Bethlehem delivers a spiritual pause in the commercial distractions of the Christmas season.

The 17th annual free event will be open 6-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Jefferson City with parking and a shuttle service running from the Capital Region Southwest Campus on Southwest Boulevard.

“It’s a re-enactment of what the life of a family during Jesus’ birth time may have been like — their struggles and hardships to return to their city of birth and be counted and pay taxes,” said Brent Davis.
