Wednesday's NHL Capsules

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Sidney Crosby scored twice during his fourth multiple-goal game in his last six, and the Pittsburgh Penguins won their 11th game in a row, beating the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-2 on Wednesday night.

The Penguins, 12-0-1 since last losing in regulation on Nov. 10, are on the second-longest winning streak in franchise history. Their only longer run was an NHL-record 17-game streak during a 119-point season in 1993.

Crosby has 20 goals and 15 assists during a 17-game scoring streak that is two shy of his career best, and has 14 goals during Pittsburgh's winning streak. Crosby also has nine goals in the last four home games. He also has at least one goal in 13 of 17 games, and leads the NHL with 26 goals and 50 points in 30 games.

Chris Kunitz had three assists for Pittsburgh, and Mark Letestu scored twice after going 22 games without a goal. Pascal Dupuis also scored. Tyler Bozak and Mikhail Grabovski scored for Toronto.

Sharks 5, Flyers 4, SO

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Logan Couture and Ryane Clowe scored shootout goals to lift San Jose past Philadelphia after the Sharks overcame a three-goal, third-period deficit and an apparent Flyers goal in overtime.

The Flyers appeared to win it in overtime, but Mike Richards' goal was waved off after a reply showed time expired an instant before the puck crossed the line.

Clowe and Couture also scored in regulation, and Jason Demers and Joe Pavelski added goals for San Jose. Scott Hartnell, Claude Giroux, Ville Leino and Nikolay Zherdev scored for Philadelphia.

Canucks 5, Ducks 4, SO

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Ryan Kesler scored his second goal in a scramble with 21.5 seconds left to tie it, Jeff Tambellini had the only shootout goal and Vancouver rallied twice to win.

Tambellini, who also scored in regulation, fired a shot over Jonas Hiller's shoulder.

Joffrey Lupul, Corey Perry and Teemu Selanne scored in regulation for the Ducks, but Roberto Luongo stopped them all the shootout, squeezing the legs on Perry's final shot to seal the win.

Hiller was forced into action after starter Curtis McElhinney was cut by a high slap shot to the mask with 8:18 left in regulation. McElhinney took Christian Ehrhoff's hard point shot off the mask and collapsed to the ice as Daniel Sedin put in the rebound to make it 4-3.

Cam Fowler also scored for the Ducks.

Blackhawks 5, Stars 3

CHICAGO (AP) - Rookies Bryan Bickell and Jeremy Morin scored goals and Corey Crawford made 28 saves to help Chicago even its home record at 8-8-0 and move into fourth in the Western Conference with 34 points.

Playing without injured offensive stars Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa, the Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks who won their second straight game and fifth in the last six. Jonathan Toews, Troy Brouwer and Patrick Sharp also scored. James Neal, Brandon Segal and Loui Eriksson scored for Dallas.

Predators 3, Red Wings 2

DETROIT (AP) - Colin Wilson, Martin Erat and J.P. Dumont scored, Anders Lindback made 35 saves and Nashville handed Detroit its third straight loss.

Pavel Datsyuk had a goal and an assist and Johan Franzen also scored for Detroit.
