Boone County jury convicts man of harassing judge
Saturday, December 4, 2010
A Boone County jury has found a 56-year-old Hartsburg man guilty of charges related to harassing a Boone County judge.
Allen Hause was convicted on two of tampering with a judicial officer. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled Jan. 13.
Hause was accused of leaving five harassing voice messages for Boone County Circuit Judge Kevin Crane on his home phone.
The Columbia Daily Tribune reported Friday that public defender David Wallis did not dispute that Hause made the calls, but he questioned whether the calls were made to harass Crane in his official duty as a judge.
Crane was Boone County prosecutor in 2006 when Hause was charged with a weapons violation.
