Lady Jays fall to Kickapoo

The Jefferson City Lady Jays opened the season Wednesday night with a 55-45 loss to Kickapoo.

The Lady Chiefs took a 15-11 lead after one quarter and outscored the Lady Jays 16-9 in the second quarter to take a 31-20 lead at the half.

Sadie Theroff canned five 3-pointers for Jefferson City, which trailed Kickapoo 46-36 after three quarters. She finished with 16 points.

Monique Townsen and Nesha Wright each added seven points for the Lady Jays.

Jefferson City, which won the JV game 38-29, is back in action Tuesday at Parkway South.
