Squaw Creek to host Eagle Days

MOUND CITY, Mo. (AP) - The Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge in northwest Missouri is hosting its 32nd annual Eagle Days the first weekend in December.

The Missouri Department of Conservation says a recent cold snap could boost eagle numbers at Squaw Creek on Dec. 4 and Dec. 5 when the department hosts Eagle Days with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Refuge Manager Ron Bell said visitors can take driving tours of the refuge to see wild bald eagles flying over wetlands or in trees. Squaw Creek is located about 30 miles north of St. Joseph.

There will also be live eagle presentations in the refuge visitor center by staff from the Dickerson Park Zoo.
