Missouri pastor charged with murder to be in court

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (AP) - A 50-year-old Missouri man charged with killing a member of his church is scheduled to appear in Jackson County court.

Court officials said David Love, former pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church in Independence, will be arraigned Thursday on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 42-year-old Randy Stone. Stone was found shot to death in his Independence insurance office in March.

A Jackson County grand jury indicted Love in early November in Stone's death. Love had been held in South Carolina since his arrest Nov. 9.

Stone was a member of the New Hope church, where Love was pastor for several years. Love apparently resigned from that church in April and moved to South Carolina.
