Calvary Lutheran to play first varsity game

The Calvary Lutheran boys basketball team will open up its schedule tonight at Stover against the Bulldogs’ JV team.

The Lions head into the season having played four JV seasons, but this is the first season with coach Jeff Latimore at the helm. It’s just one hurdle the team’s having to overcome, but it was made easier thanks to something that has nothing to do with basketball.

“What helped me out was having these guys in baseball,” Latimore said.
