KC man sentenced for bomb hoax

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A Kansas City man has been sentenced 18 months in federal prison for making a false bomb threat at the federal courthouse in Kansas City.

Federal prosecutors said 66-year-old Manuel Garcia pleaded guilty in July to threatening the use of an explosive device over the telephone.

Prosecutors said Garcia put a cooler at a side entrance to the courthouse in April with a note saying the cooler contained explosives. He also was accused of calling 911 to say three more bombs were inside the courthouse the next day.
