Missouri River race finally hits water today

After being delayed for about a month due to high water and fast currents, an annual race along the Missouri River is scheduled to start today.

The Missouri River 340, which goes from Kansas City, Kan., to St. Charles, Mo., is expected to last through Thursday or Friday.

Officials with the Jefferson City Parks and Recreation Department said they've had crews cleaning up the Noren River Access, where boats and crews will check in with race officials as they head down the river.
