News Tribune coverage of Greitens investigations

A St. Louis grand jury in late February 2018 charged Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens with felony invasion of privacy for allegedly taking a partially nude photo of a woman with whom he had had an extramarital affair in March 2015, before he was elected to political office.

The criminal indictment prompted a separate investigation by a special Missouri House of Representatives Committee, chaired by state Rep. Jay Barnes, R-Jefferson City.

The committee may also be looking into other issues, including illegal campaign use of donor information from The Mission Continues, a veterans' nonprofit Greitens founded, and Greitens' staff's use of the text-messaging app Confide, which automatically deletes messages after they're read.

Balanced and accurate reporting is a priority for the News Tribune, whether the reporting comes from News Tribune staff reporters or from the Associated Press. To provide a full view of the issues involved in the various investigations surrounding the governor – the House investigation, the St. Louis criminal case, the charity investigation, and the Confide lawsuit – we've gathered all related coverage below so you can read about the different perspectives, opinions and facts of the ongoing story in one place.
