AB presenting donation to nonprofit BackStoppers

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A St. Louis-based group that helps families of police and firefighters killed in the line of duty is getting an $82,000 donation.

BackStoppers is marking its 40th year of operation in 12 counties of eastern Missouri and five on the Illinois side of the St. Louis metro area.

The donation includes a $50,000 gift from the Anheuser-Busch Foundation plus the proceeds from a 30-day promotion at bars and restaurants. Local wholesalers also donated a portion of the proceeds from every 30-pack of Anheuser-Busch product sold.

The gift will be presented Wednesday at the annual Budweiser Guns 'N Hoses boxing matches at the Scottrade Center.
