Published: Wednesday, November 25, 2009 4:38 AM CST
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A private, Catholic boys school in St. Louis County has been given a $28 million gift for an arts center.

The family of St. Louis-raised businessman Skip Viragh is making the gift to Chaminade College Prep. The alumnus and mutual fund innovator died in 2003.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the gift is believed to be the largest gift ever to a grade school or high school in the St. Louis region.

The gift will be used to build and endow a 79,000-square-foot arts center.
