PSC sets intervention deadline in rate case

Published: Friday, November 20, 2009 5:25 AM CST
The Missouri Public Service Commission has established the deadline for those wishing to intervene and participate in a water-rate case filed by the Missouri-American Water Company.

Applications to intervene must be filed no later than Nov. 30 with the secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Mo., 65102. Applications may also be submitted electronically at www.psc.mo.gov.

On Oct. 30, Missouri-American filed a water-rate case with the PSC. The company is seeking to increase annual water operating revenues by approximately $48.5 million.

An average Jefferson City residential customer using 5,000 gallons of water currently pays $31.26 a month. With the proposed increase, the rate would be $35.43 per month.
