Police: Suspects have Chicago ties

Published: Thursday, November 19, 2009 5:51 AM CST
Several people have been indicted in connection with the distribution of drugs, mainly crack cocaine and marijuana, in Jefferson City. The common denominator is they have ties to Chicago.

"These are all dealers," said Police Capt. Mike Smith. "We don't know where they are getting their supplies from."

The Cole County grand jury indicted these individuals, and authorities served warrants on them in May and November.

Those served from Chicago include: Tyridius Johnson, Temarious Johnson, Steven Dennis and Steven Dennis Jr. The two Dennises are not father and son, but are believed to be cousins.

Those served from Jefferson City include: Antonio Ingram, Wayne Bush, Jerrammie Ingram, Cedric Riley, Rodney Hopkins and Gwendolyn Wofford.

All those served are facing charges of distribution of a controlled substance, with the exception of Ingram and Bush who are charged with distribution on housing authority property, which Smith said would be like selling near a school.

"Those from Chicago come down here to sell, and those from Jefferson City have relatives who live in Chicago," Smith said. Smith said the investigation is continuing.
