Tipton advances to football semifinals

ADRIAN, Mo. -- The Tipton Cardinals advanced the the Class 1 semifinals for the third consecutive time Saturday with a 26-7 win over Adrian in their quarterfinal game.

The Cardinals (13-0, ranked fifth) will host undefeated Valle Catholic (13-0, ranked third) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Valle Catholic advanced with a 42-6 win over Miller.

A win over Valle Catholic would give Tipton its first-ever trip to the state championship game.
