Family fun at First Baptist

Published: Monday, October 26, 2009 4:58 AM CDT
Zac Mendoza-Riley, 9, dressed as a rock star in jet black and posed for a portrait, while his grandmother watched at Sunday’s First Baptist Church’s annual Fall Fun for Families event.

His grandmother, Carolyn Paczkowski, said the family comes every year. “It’s a good event for the kids,” she said. “(Zac’s) not going out on the streets trick-or-treating this year. And you know you’re not going to get mugged in here.”

Event organizer Leigh Halverson said the event is designed as a fun, safe event for the community. About 300 attendees enjoyed soda, popcorn and cookies, plus games ranging from bounce houses to miniature golf.

“We’ve had a great turnout,” said Halverson, the church’s associate pastor of children and families. “It’s just folks from the comunity getting together and spending time with the kids.”

" We went to this event and had a great time. The time goes by so fast! The kids enjoyed themselves and so did us parents! Thanks FBC! "
