Brother charged in Sikeston stabbing

SIKESTON, Mo. (AP) -- A Sikeston man has been charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of his brother.

The Southeast Missourian reports that 57-year-old Larry Joe Johnson was charged Tuesday in the death of David Johnson.

Scott County prosecutor Paul Boyd says David Johnson died Sunday night after being stabbed in the neck.

A court affidavit says Sikeston police who responded to a call reporting a stabbing found Larry Johnson sitting on the floor, cradling David Johnson. Both were covered in blood.

A witness told detectives the two had argued over money.

David Johnson died at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Larry Johnson is in custody at the Scott County Jail, under a $250,000 cash-only bond.
