Officials from the state treasurer’s office will be at the Missouri State Fair seeking to return unclaimed property.

The treasurer’s office has more than $500 million from abandoned bank accounts, bonds, insurance policies and other financial assets.

The State Fair opens Thursday in Sedalia and continues through Aug. 23.

State officials will be in the Mathewson Exhibition Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the fair to answer questions, file claims and help search for property.
