Three stations to make digital switch April 2

Three Mid-Missouri television stations will make the switch to digital television at midnight on April 2.

KMIZ, Channel 17, KOMU, Channel 8 and KMOS, the PBS station in Warrensburg will make the switch at that time.

Officials at the three stations hope that by making the switch together they will alleviate any confusion among viewers. They also point out that it's taken their stations five to seven years to get the digital process set up.

KRCG, Channel 13, is planning to make the switch on June 12, which is the deadline mandated by the federal government.
