“Take all you want, folks,” said Jerry Engelby, activities director.
Engelby has been hosting the event for more than seven years. It allows residential care residents to “shop” for items to give their loved ones for Christmas. But they don't need to bring any money and they don't need to travel somewhere else.
“I didn't believe them,” when they said no money is needed, said Connie Edmondson, 95. “I went back to get my money anyway. I thought I'd have to pay for something.”
Sorting through the stuffed animals, Edmondson was pleased to find gifts for her niece's children.
