Man killed in accident

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report, a 1999 Pontiac Firebird, driven eastbound by Nathan D. Doyel, Tipton, ran off the right side of the road, returned to the road and then ran off the left side of the road. The vehicle struck a tree, then caught fire, the patrol said.
A passenger, Donald D. Riggs, 26, California, was killed.
Doyel was taken to the University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital. No condition report was available Monday.
It is not known if either were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.

Out late, driving too fast (on a known bad road and dangerous corner) and other factors (ie, alcohol, etc.) are a bad combination.
