Your Opinion
Opinion overlooks Obama associates

By Barbara Hill, Jefferson City
Published: Wednesday, October 15, 2008 4:43 PM CDT
Dear Editor: Your Our Opinion published in Tuesday's newspaper contained the following quip concerning the now well-corroborated and much-more-than casual connection between Barack Obama and Bill Ayers, the confessed American terrorist.

“Are associations from more than a decade ago really important? Does anybody believe someone can advance through elected office and contend for the presidency without rubbing elbows with an unsavory character along the way?”

First, the “association” between BHO and Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground was not more than a decade ago. If to his political advantage, BHO would be in Ayers' living room tonight.

Secondly, you proffer Ayers is the only “unsavory character” with whom BHO has chosen to associate. That simply is not true, and I will name names.

Frank Marshall Davis, “Obama's Communist Mentor,” by Cliff Kincaid, AIM, 18 Feb 08.

Rashid Khalidi, “friend and frequent dinner guest” who “holds anti-American views” according to Jerome R. Corsi, Ph.D., author of The Obamanation.

Raila Odinga. Watch “Barrack Obama & Raila Odinga” CNN clips at www.atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/Kenyas_killing _fields/.

Jeremiah Wright. Ali Abunimah. See “Obama Raised Funds for Islamic Causes” by Aaron Klein, WorldNet-Daily, 25 Feb 08.

Syrian-born Tony Rezko, friend and convicted fundraiser now pending sentencing in Chicago. ACORN and Project Vote.

There are undoubtedly many more “unsavory characters” in BHO's past and present, but no one sent 60 lawyers to Chicago to “vet” BHO, and the standard media sources are “in the tank for Obama.”

Instead of publishing Our Opinion anonymously under “The News Tribune,” you should just keep up the good work of publishing my favorite columnist, Thomas Sowell.

Now as I have said time and again it is some of the polocies of the countries moreso than the religion. Funny how now the atheist is the one whom has to defend a religious belief to the christians that generally bash me for no beliefs with the fact that christianity gives them the moral direction. What a joke. "

If live and Doug will think real hard (cuz you soft of get it Nat), they would realize that my position supports the muslim individuals freedoms, human rights and ultimately servival more than thiers. Pretending it's gonna be ok and over lokking all these human right violations is what got us Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, etc. Standing up, stating the truth, not accepting these disgusting parts of their culture must be done. Even in 1977, their supreme court said that a woman could divorce her husband when he physically abused her. Also, she could retain custody of her children. Pretty progressive, wouldn't you think? " If we really want to discuss un-American activities, let us to start with an organization whose charter is based on hatred of and secession from the United States. Its founder, Joe Vogler, preached terrorism for and hatred of America (that is, the United States), and when he finally died, according to his wish to "never be buried under an American flag," he was interred in Canada.
The organization is the Alaskan Independence Party.
For many years, Sarah and Todd Palin have been solid supporters of the AIP. Earlier this year, Gov. Palin made her annual speech in support of the AIP. Her endorsement is on youtube at
youtube.com/watch?v=ZwvPNXYrIyI
and the same speech is also on the AIP website. Listen for yourself and think! "

" ...and now Obama can't even tell the truth about what baseball team he wants to win the World Series, this is a perfect example of Obama's pandering, and his lack of decision making ability, something as simple as baseball and he's straddling the fence, liying to both cities/states. rotflmao, He wouldn't even make a good baseball commisioner, never mind leader of the free world. " Wow, these are not rumors, these are legitimate questions that should have been addressed years ago. The bizzaire God like status of Barrack Hussaine Obama has kept the media from vetting him properly. Don't blame the right for asking legitimate questions, the guy has a who's who list of leftist friends and associates, he is the most liberal senator (bi-partisan study-FACT). We get it, your in love with him, do you get the concern we have for a guy with this track record defending our nation?? I'm not risking my families future on an unproven nice guy, go cut your teeth for another decade Mr. Obama, your way to risky for the world in 2008. "

" Geeeezzzzzzzzzzz what next? Obama paled around with Barney The Purple Lizard? How about Obama use to date a girl from Hawaii who wasn't really a natural born Hawaiian? Surely that's truly bad. Now that he's heading home to visit his ill Grandmother is somebody gonna start negative rumors about that?

I admit Obama isn't God nor is he without sin. But he is however the person that many people believe should be the next US President. I can live with that.

What about the McCains/Plains and their screwy associates? I guess that doesn't matter because their associates are named Smith, Keating, Hauge...ya know, good Christian/Catholic names.

Paaaaaaleeeeezzzze!!!!! Obama 2008 and beyond! "

" THANK YOU Ms. Hill! Frankly, I'm surprised that NT even published the letter given that virtually all the media is so pro-Obama that you can smell it from the front page to the last. "

" Finally, someone with enough guts to publish what could be the motive behind a lot dismissed by the media. Why is it the Democrats continue to call these associations unimportant. They would have you believe that it is all sensationized by GOP to discredit BHO. Were it a story of a Republican candidate it would suddenly gain great importance. These are skeletons that will come to life in a concerning form after the election. "
