Man sentenced to prison for distributing marijuana

Cole County Judge Richard Callahan recently sentenced a Jefferson City man to 10 years in prison after he pled guilty to one count of distribution of a controlled substance.
James Warner, 36, 5111 S. Brooks St., was taken into custody by Jefferson City police and members of the MUSTANG Drug Task Force. They stopped a vehicle driven by Warner in the vicinity of the Missouri River Bridge around 10 p.m. July 9 after gathering information the vehicle might be transporting marijuana.
A search of the vehicle turned up five, one-pound bags of marijuana (worth an estimated $3,700) and $1,900 in cash.
It's believed the drugs had come from Kansas City.
