Class Action, a series of 25 short scenes and monologues, will be presented Sept. 18-20, 26 and 27.
These pieces were commissioned by San Francisco's American Conservatory Theatre and have won critical acclaim for their portrayal of teen situations.
A variety of subjects, both serious and light hearted, are covered. All the scenes take place outside the classroom, but focus on situations important to high school students such as prom night, homework, alcoholism, pregnancy, detention, teen idols, peer pressure and class elections.
A cast of ten teens from Jefferson City and Helias High Schools are featured. Helias students include Natalie Eickhoff, Garrett Forck, Alex Eickhoff, and Patrick Pollock. Jefferson City students include Zach McKinney, Jill Pritchard, Emile Graham, Megan Walton and Katie Jones. Also featured is Scott Holliday, who graduated from Jefferson City last year.
Scene One's Black Box Theatre is located at 121 E. High St., below Carrie's Hallmark in downtown Jefferson City.
The theater opens at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. each night.
Tickets are $6. Tickets can be reserved by calling 681-9199.
Theater officials are urging patrons to attend the first weekend because in the past they have had many people waiting until the last minute on the second weekend and they've had to turn people away.
