Capital Region to host 2008 Women's Health Conference

The event will be held at the Capital Mall meeting room in the JC Penney wing.
Candy Whirley will be the keynote speaker. Whirley is known for her high energy enthusiasm, innovative training activities, and contagious sense of humor. She is a dynamic speaker dedicated to sharing more than 20 years of her professional expertise to help professionals improve their job performance and achieve their personal goals.
Whirley's presentation entitled, “Dance to Extraordinary Success,” is designed for all women, and will help them on both a professional and personal level. Those attending will learn to: Quit dancing around communication; dance with passion, purpose, and perspective; balance life and dance through stress; celebrate your own dance, and learn to do the team's tango.
Also speaking at the event will be Diane Light, D.O., general surgeon. Light will discuss the importance of mammograms and current trends in our region. Teri Deffenbaugh, D.O. and Carol Sawyer, PT, will offer information regarding incontinence and available therapies and treatment. Concluding the event will be Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon, William P. Sweezer, M.D. Sweezer will help women at the event understand cardiovascular health specifically related to the female gender.
