Martial Arts: Clark, Riley honored

Bryson Clark and Camden Riley were named two of the top 10 martial artists in the United States in their divisions in 2007 and were honored at the NASKA banquet held June 19.
Clark and Riley, along with eight other AMA Dojo students, then competed at the AKA Grands Bluegrass National Open Karate Tournament on June 20-21 in Louisville.
Six of those students - Clark, Ashlie Emerson, Dyllon Maddox, John Richards, Justin Berry and Justice Richards - have qualified to compete at the Battle of Atlanta Open Karate Tournament on Aug. 1-2 in Atlanta, Ga.
Here are the results from the tournament in Louisville:
Intermediate
Ashlie Emerson, age 12: sparring, third; Kata, first.
Jacqueline Riley, 13: sparring, fourth; weapons, first; Kata, fifth.
Camdon Riley, 11: sparring, honorable mention; weapons, honorable mention; Kata, sixth.
John Richards, 12: sparring, first; weapons, sixth; Kata, third.
Justice Richards, 13: sparring, second; weapons, fourth; Kata, second.
Bryson Clark, 12: sparring, sixth; weapons, third; Kata, first.
Kyle Emerson, 8: sparring, fifth; Kata, fifth.
Beginner
Tyler Quehl, 11: sparring, third; weapons, third; Kata, fifth.
Dyllon Maddox, 13: sparring, fourth; weapons, second; Kata, first.
Justin Berry, 13: sparring, second; weapons, first; Kata, third.
