Man faces molestation charge

Published: Tuesday, June 24, 2008 4:36 PM CDT
A Jefferson City man has been charged with first-degree child molestation and sexual misconduct for incidents that reportedly occurred at a residence in the 7100 block of Heritage Highway.

Court records indicate Bruce Nevins, 57, was released from custody after posting bond this weekend.

According to a probable cause statement from the Cole County Sheriff's Department, the incidents occurred in December 2003 and March 2006 and involved two female juveniles.

The charges claim Nevins made sexual remarks and exposed himself to the juveniles.

" Mr. Nivens needs to be locked up in Farmington Sop for 30yrs. with other tree jumpers, I know a Guy who transferred to Farmington for a good Correctional promotion there as Cheif Investigator. He said its sick there even, they go on the yard there, trying there sick tactics on other young men. He calls it "tree Jumper H_ _ _". I just laugh. "

" I thought of a new concept for sentencing convicted sex offenders. Let the family determine and carry out the punishment. If they want him dead, let them do it, if they want him tortured, let them do it, if they want him "rehabilitated" by bubba, let them sentence him to prison. Only problem with my plan is all of the innocent people convicted by a zealous prosecutor that are later found innocent because of dna. But it is a nice thought. "

Maybe the low bonds are a part of the "Catch and Release" program the local prosecution and courts are running these days... "

Well he caught a new case, I'm sure they have him on the new computerized list. I said before now he tagged & bagged for the next one, hey did you watch "Flock" yet, rent it , Richard Gere does good job putting these sick puppies in check. lol "

" As someone who has been through too much in my young life, (and I'm not going to get into details) I don't agree at all with the supreme courts decision. I think if you are sick enough to hurt a child in any way you should be put to death. I think lethal injection is too humane. These sick people should be subjected to the same type of treatment they put their victims through. That is the one good thing about prison, most of the time they are by Bubba and his boys. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR CHILD ABUSE! AND I HAVE NO SYMPATHY!! "

gofish wrote on Jun 30, 2008 1:15 PM:

" oriley wrote "I do appreciate that Governor Blunt was for the death penalty of child moletsors, but unfortunately Supreme Court believes in rehabilitation of perverts."

The Supreme Court did not say it believes in rehabilitation, only that this type of crime does not meet the societal standard for a crime that "deserves" the death penalty. In a previous artical/forum on this subject I quoted the research that shows that sex offenders have a much lower recidivism rate than other criminals. Of the sex offenders that reoffend, more second offense are for things other than another sex crime. Sex offenses are reprehensible, but I agree with the Supreme Court on this one. "

oriley wrote on Jun 30, 2008 12:39 PM:

" He should not be out on bond only to do it again. I am highly upset that the Supreme Court shot down the idea of putting child molestor to death. Guess they haven't had it happen to one of theirs. I say get rid of the sickos. I do appreciate that Governor Blunt was for the death penalty of child moletsors, but unfortunately Supreme Court believes in rehabilitation of perverts. "

It's not unusual for VICTIMS of sexual abuse to show symptoms of that abuse including promiscuity and an advanced knowledge of sexual information for their age.

Stop blaming the victims, lest someone start investigating YOU! "

She did have serious depression problems because of what he did to her. Unfortunatly all of us that have had crazy things like that happen so young in life are severly scared for it. God bless her beautiful soul. I hope this sick freak gets locked up some where like JCCC where the guys really like monsters like him! "

I sure these child molestors mess up all these children that they victicmize. I pray she's in Heaven now, when Brucy boy get judged she uses God's sickle cut his junk off, kicks him down to Satan! "

I have also noticed that there are some of the same people that comment in many forums saying they know this person or that person and they would never do such a thing or you don't know the facts so don't judge. If I knew so many people involved with different crimes I would be finding different people to hang with. Just my opinion... "

She used to tell me all the time the sick things her step-dad would do to her. If I remember right, she is the one he went to prison for molesting. She was killed a few years later at the intersection of 54 and Heritage. If this is the same guy he is one sick freak. "

But she's Barely legal 18 yr. old for ex: His disfunctional sexual issues are still there?

Would most 18yr old young ladies would think he's a werido tryin that stuff in bar or date? yes
see my point he still sick in his rational reasoning or decisions. "

Also to add my point is if he moved away from the Family you so-called victicmized him.

Play devils avocate, He moved away would he do it to a new & strange little girl?

My answer would be yes, due to she still has sexual desire for alittle girl. Now if he had the urges for sex, found a sex freak older women his age, would that be honest adult foreplay? yes FFT "
