The USDA Rural Development office, which locally serves the counties of Cole, Gasconade, Maries, Moniteau and Osage, helps families to purchase and repair homes. The agency offers 100 percent financing on the purchase of a home through its 502 Direct and Guaranteed loan programs. It also offers the 504 Repair and Grant program for low-income families to assist in maintaining their homes.
In Missouri, Rural Development invested nearly $210 million of financial services for housing last year, while providing assistance to nearly 3,000 rural individuals or families, said Morris Westfall, Missouri State director for USDA Rural Development.
