Jefferson City police said James West, 47, lost control of his westbound 1991 Buick Park Avenue at 2:51 p.m., and the car ran off the right side of the street and hit the curb.
Police said the car “then made an abrupt left turn” and crossed all five traffic lanes, jumped the curb on the south side of the street and hit the MoDOT building at 1507 Missouri Blvd.
West was not wearing a seat belt, and suffered what police described as minor injuries.
