St. Elizabeth uses long ball to post win over Iberia

IBERIA, Mo. - The St. Elizabeth Hornets belted three home runs Thursday in a 10-3 victory over the Iberia Rangers.

Tyler Holtmeyer, Will Reeves and Derek Holtmeyer all had home runs for the Hornets. Tyler Holtmeyer finished with two hits and two runs scored while driving in three. Reeves' and Derek Holtmeyer's home runs were solo shots.

Kyle Hoecker and Nolan Wansing also had two hits each in the win.

Tyler Holtmeyer went the distance to get the win, tossing a five-hitter. He walked three and struck out six.

St. Elizabeth will take on Stoutland at noon Tuesday at Drury University in Springfield. St. Elizabeth is ranked sixth in the latest Class 1 state coaches poll, while Stoutland is No. 2.

In Thursday's JV game, St. Elizabeth posted a 4-1 victory.
