Lincoln University will be well represented at this week's NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships.

On the women's side, the Blue Tigers will have nine individuals and one relay team competing as Lincoln bids for its third national title in the last five years.

The Lincoln women dominated qualifying in the sprints. The Blue Tigers have five of the 20 qualifiers in the 60-meter dash and five of the 21 in the 200-meter dash.

The 60-meter qualifiers include: sophomore Janika Martell, the No. 1 national seed; junior Nandelle Cameron; junior Jody-Ann Powell; sophomore Marcia Woolery; and freshman Shanna-Kay Wright. Cameron was second in the event last year.

The 200-meter qualifiers are led by Martell, the No. 5 seed. Others include Woolery, Cameron, and juniors Carla Thomas and Monique Robinson. Thomas was fourth last year, while Cameron finished seventh.

Thomas will also take part in the 60-meter hurdles, where she was second last year, while Meisha Thompson will compete in the 400-meter run.

Lincoln's Natoya Thompson will compete in the high jump.

The 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore Okine Codlyn, Robinson, freshman Patricia Tinglin and junior Kaydian Howell is the No. 5 seed.

For the men, the Blue Tigers will send three individuals and one relay team.

Wilbert Walker leads the Lincoln men's contingent. The junior is the No. 1 national seed in both the long and triple jumps. Walker was second in the triple jump and third in the long jump last year.

Kawayne Fisher and Kimour Bruce, both freshman, will run in the 60-meter dash.

The Blue Tigers will also compete in the 4x400-meter relay. Relay team members are sophomore Raymond Richards, senior Ricardo Foster, junior Michael Trusty and sophomore Huntly Thomas.

The championships will be held Friday and Saturday at Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minn. St. Augustine's is the defending men's and women's champion.

The Lincoln women were second, while the men finished fifth.
