L. Steinman files for Western District commissioner

Steinman said he felt “it is time for change in the office, new ideas and a fresh way of looking at the future of Cole County.”
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Steinman feels his varied experiences in the service could provide valuable input to the office.
Steinman is a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Olive Buerhle Chapter 17, and is their representative on the Jefferson City Veterans Council, where he was elected to serve a two-year term as council vice-president.
Steinman, a Democrat, worked as an owner-operator, long-haul truck driver and was a member of several trade unions.
His education includes attending Lincoln University, Columbia College, Nichols Career Center, real estate school in Missouri and insurance school in both Missouri and Indiana.
