Harold Westhues has stepped down after 40 years as the bank's first president. Dick Wilson, another long-time executive with Jefferson Bank, was elected by the Board of Directors to replace him.
Westhues will continue as chairman of the Board of Directors, while Wilson takes over day-to-day management of the bank.
“Dick Wilson has spent his entire career at Jefferson Bank, serving in many capacities. He understands banking from the ground up and is perfectly suited to take over the responsibilities of president,” Westhues said.
Westhues has served as president since the bank opened in November 1967. In the past 40 years, Jefferson Bank has grown to $460 million in assets, with more than 25,000 customers and 110 employees at four locations.
Dick Wilson has served as board chairman for the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Helias Foundation and the St. Mary's Health Center Foundation.
He has also been active in the Lincoln University Foundation and fund drives for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. He currently serves on the boards of directors for the Missouri Development Finance Board and Rural Missouri Inc. as well as Jefferson Bank.
“It is my goal as president of Jefferson Bank to continue what we have been for the past 40 years - a community bank providing outstanding service to our customers. We will continue to help strengthen this community with our banking services, as well as our civic contributions,” Wilson said.
