Four file for JC School Board on first day

Published: Wednesday, December 19, 2007 12:00 AM CST
Four people filed Tuesday for the three Jefferson City School Board seats being filled in the April 8 elections.

Incumbents Jackie Coleman, Duane Schreimann and Tami Turner were followed to the board office by Dennis Nickelson, a now-retired former high school science teacher who also was a district teacher of the year.

Coleman was the first to file, followed by Turner and Schreimann, then Nickelson.

But, because people filing on the first day also draw a random number to determine the order their name will be listed on the ballot, voters will see Turner first, then Coleman, Nickelson and, finally, Schreimann.

From now until filing ends Jan. 22, all other candidates will be listed in the order they file for the election.
