Published: Saturday, December 17, 2005 12:00 AM CST
Edward Jones representatives are hosting a free satellite broadcast on "Making Sense of the Headlines," at 10:30 a.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 10 at a variety of locations.

The broadcast features Jeremy Siegel, who will focus on how major events like the recent hurricanes, record-high gas prices and changing of the guard at the Federal Reserve, will impact the economy and investment decisions.

A course titled "Planning for Retirement Benefits," is scheduled from 1-4 p.m., Jan. 11. The program covers the most vital tax and financial planning issues, confronting IRA and pension account owners including: distribution, beneficiary selection and estate tax liability.

The course is approved for three CPE hours for CPAs and accountants. CLE credit for attorneys is pending approval in all states with general education requirements.

The fee of $60 includes admission for one person and all course materials. Reservations are required.

To reserve a seat for the broadcast or course, call a Jefferson City area representative.
